A 50-year-old businessman harassed a female patron at a pub in Andheri (West) on Thursday (May 29)and fired a bullet at the pub manager when he intervened. The manager sustained bullet injury on his leg and is recuperating in a hospital. The police arrested the businessman, Vikram Kumar Karodi, who lives in Versova. He was carrying a licensed weapon, the police said. Karodi allegedly misbehaved with the victim twice which led to an argument between them. The victim complained to the manager about it. The manager, Jitendra Jha, 38, asked the businessman to behave following which he fired at the manager. The pub staff caught Karodi and informed the police. "He was teasing the woman and fired at the manager when he spoke out in support of the woman. We arrested him for attempt to murder and molestation," , addition commissioner of police (West region).
